Hoping to bring the runway to your home—and to make their lifestyle brands all-encompassing—top fashion designers are releasing collections of interior adornments. Now, you can rest your handbag on a matching coffee table or correspond your jacket to your bedding. Ralph Lauren started it all in 1983, becoming the first American clothing designer to release a complete line of products and accessories for the home. Since then, almost every fashion house you can think of has tried its hand at the trade. Here, we break down some of today’s most iconic brands and their translations from the figure to the forms of your abode.


Trademark Founded in 1967, this American company quickly grew into a clothing and lifestyle empire. It epitomizes classic prep, using familiar silhouettes in comfortable materials to create everyday items. The brand is instantly recognizable by its signature Polo pony logo.

Trademark The Italian brand’s flamboyant, high-end bohemian fashions bring fun and luxury to diaphanous pieces. Note over-the-top crystal embellishments and vibrantly colored motif patterns.

A Crucial Collaboration A powerhouse partnership developed in 2016 between Dolce & Gabbana and Italian appliance manufacturer SMEG. After creating 100 hand-painted refrigerators, the contingent has since released other kitchen necessities through the “Sicily Is My Love” collection.

Key Players In collaboration with a curated team of innovative international designers, the Objets Nomades collection was launched in 2012. The line of furniture was later joined by Les Petits Nomades, a grouping of smaller decor pieces.
