Richard Avedon: Among Creatives

Photographer Richard Avedon, initially renowned for his fashion photography, eventually shifted his focus to capturing the celebrities and artists of his era, often during their most exciting or vulnerable moments. By revealing a side of them seldom witnessed in public, Avedon’s works have garnered immense acclaim, and many of his finest photos are on display at the Phoenix Art Museum. “Harry Fonseca: Transformations”

In the late 1970s, the late Nisenan Native American artist Harry Fonseca began his “Coyote” series. The main character in these works, seen as a “trickster” in Native American storytelling, is a metaphor for how one changes and defies society’s preconceived notions.
