FUN FACT: In 1955, Frank Lloyd Wright purchased a collection of slightly damaged Chinese Shiwan ware—ceramic pieces from the late 19th or early 20th century depicting scenes from theatrical productions. Believing that the Asian aesthetic integrated well with his own, he incorporated the sculptures into walls throughout Taliesin West, where they remain today.
