From Rainmade Design, local creator of concrete architectural finishes, comes a line of customizable fire features crafted by owner and artisan Matt Noakes. The modern rectangular form incorporates a slim fire line rather than a fire pit’s typical circular configuration.

The idea for the project was sparked by Noakes’ burning ambition to find a niche product to perfect. Playing with fire was too tempting to ignore. “Being in the Southwest, we pretty much have year-round weather during which time it’s nice to sit by a fire,” he says. While the current design is fully customizable in size, color and material of the base, Noakes hopes to eventually have standard products available for easy purchase.

“I am really excited about working with fire,” Noakes continues. “When you are gathered around a fire pit with friends and family, it’s as if the weight of the world has been lifted, and you’re in a state of relaxation.”
