With Mom in Mind
Along with jewelry or Sunday brunch, flowers are a traditional go-to Mother’s Day gift. While much can be said for a delivered bouquet, go a step further and show mom your love with a remembrance that continues to give.
Berridge Nurseries—a destination for Valley gardeners for 80 years—stocks more than 100 varieties of thorned beauties, as many as 6,000 planted in pots and another 1,200 as bare-root. The collection includes hybrids, which have longer stems ideal for cutting; floribundas, which bloom in clusters of smaller flowers and make
good shrubs; stately grandifloras; climbers; and ground covers.
This year, choose from two new arrivals to Berridge’s varied collection: Easy Spirit, ravishing in white with a touch of pale yellow, and Parade Day (pictured), an intensely colored fuchsia-and-white variegated showstopper.
Whether your mom is a seasoned gardener or budding novice, on Sunday, May 13, think beyond the vase. (berridgenursery.com)
