From delicately rolled artisanal meats to creamy cheeses and fresh fruits and veggies, a holiday party platter is the perfect way to keep guests satiated before tucking into dinner. Catherine McCord—a model turned The Food Network judge, cookbook author and founder of the food blog Weelicious and meal delivery service One Potato—shared with us one of her favorite recipes for gregarious grazing.

  • Brie
  • Manchego cheese
  • Goat cheese
  • Blue cheese
  • Aged cheddar cheese
  • Baguette, sliced
  • Bread sticks
  • Dried apricots
  • Dried figs
  • Cashews
  • Sesame-coated almonds
  • Pistachios
  • Grapes
  • Persimmons
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Olives
  • Cornichons
  • Honeycomb
  • Blackberries
  • Raspberries
  • Dark cherries
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Crackers

  1. Arrange the large items first to anchor the platter.
  2. Chop the fruits and veggies into bite-sized pieces and arrange decoratively around the board along with the remaining ingredients.
  3. Contrast is key. Try to place dark foods next to light foods to add variety.
