Exploring new product releases on the showroom floor is nice, but actually seeing them in a home setting really brings them to life. This year at KBIS, Monogram debuted its Statement Collection, which blends modern and traditional styles, but just a few months earlier, the line was unveiled in the kitchen remodel of the former Palm Springs, California, residence of one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars.
“The Kirk Douglas Estate has a rich history representing the golden age of midcentury modern design—the combination of clean lines, geometric forms and practical functionality,” says Elise Raydo, senior design engagement leader for Monogram Appliances. “This project was particularly appealing because the property’s original interiors and architecture had been maintained for decades.”
Homeowner Diane Bald wanted appliances that would blend into her vision, which was a working kitchen that maintained the design integrity of the rest of the house. The premium-grade Statement Collection features edge-to-edge handles, a stainless-steel finish with solid brass accents, wide glass windows and interactive LCD displays.
Nine appliances were included in the remodel, including integrated and drawer refrigerators, double wall ovens, a gas range, warming drawers, a dishwasher and even a wine reserve.
