Imagine living in a dwelling programmed for the wellness of all its inhabitants. Acoustic Designs Group offers a suite of home wellness technology features that focus on well-being and creating an overall healthier home, from lighting optimized to follow circadian rhythm, to air and water purification systems powered by artificial intelligence. The 2,500-square-foot Scottsdale showroom was designed to look like a modern loft—complete with living area, kitchen, master bath and master bedroom—where guests can interact with the technology. “For example, we demonstrate the air purification by lighting a match,” says executive director Ej Jamsgard. “Clients are able to observe the Crestron touch pad sense the pollutant, which then sets the system in motion to clean the air until it returns to a healthy ‘green.’ Most people spend a great deal of time at home. It should be a wellness retreat where they can experience optimum health advantages, especially as so many today work remotely.” Jamsgard shared with us more details about the showroom, as well as the importance of home wellness technology in a COVID world and beyond.

Tell us more about Acoustic Design Group. Was the Technology & Wellness Showroom always part of your vision?

As a trendsetter in our industry, my vision has always been to advance the incoming technology to my clients as soon as available on the market. I learned of Delos Living about four years ago and knew immediately I would incorporate it into our space. The past few years, as the technology has increased our abilities in the field of wellness and of course with the recent pandemic, our Wellness Suite and its capabilities just makes sense.

The showroom has been open since October 2021. How’s it going so far?

We have had an overwhelming response. People are excited to live healthy in all aspects of their lives. Most people spend a great deal of time at home. Home should be a wellness retreat where they can experience optimum health advantages, especially as so many are working remotely from their homes.

What are some of your favorites of the home wellness technology featured in the showroom?

The master bathroom is my favorite feature. The lighting can calm, boost or energize you with just a click of button. The energized mirror gets me going too.

What can guests expect to see and experience when they visit the showroom?

We designed the space as a modern loft with living area, kitchen, master bath and master bedroom. We demonstrate the air purification by lighting a match. Clients are able to observe the Crestron touch pad sense the pollutant which then sets the system in motion to clean the air until it returns to a healthy “green”. The water purification is a simple taste test and of course our living green wall assists in maintaining a healthy breathing space. Ketra lighting provides the circadian rhythm our bodies naturally crave for complete energy. The sunrise can be simulated in the bedroom 45 minutes before you wake. Even if it’s dark outside, you will still have the natural boost of energy to rise like our bodies were wired to do. Lighting is key to our overall health and clients can experience many variables in our suite.

What is your hope for the future of smart home wellness technology and how it pairs with wellness?

There are a lot of creative minds who continue to surprise us with technologies we never knew possible. I hope they continue to design, create and implement home technologies with the 21st century needs of our clients. The balance required is making the choices affordable to the current market as we have seen with the electric vehicle market. After years of technology, the infrastructure has caught up and the benefit now reaches all price points. Wellness homes at all price points still have a way to go, but each day it becomes more and more mainstream.
