Taliesin West kicks off its popular happy hour program with live music and a book signing of “Taliesin West: At Home With Frank Lloyd Wright” by author and Phoenix Home & Garden contributor Nora Burba Trulsson. Taco Fest

There’s more to tacos than tortillas, meat, lettuce and cheese. Halloween Town 2024

If your young ones aren’t ready for a trip inside a haunted house, take them to this event designed for kids between 2 to 8 years old. There will be carnival games, a hay maze, kids’ activities, face painting and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Arizona State Fair

When the fairgrounds light up, Valley dwellers know that fall has finally arrived in Phoenix. But be sure to come prepared. Between the topsy-turvy carnival rides, corn dogs, fry bread and funnel cakes, you’ll need a strong stomach to make it through the night, especially if you want to catch The All-American Rejects, Big Time Rush, and Vanilla Ice at the Coliseum. We Ain’t Ever Gonna Break Up: The Hymon & Parfunkel Musical

Featuring music from a band that never existed, this play follows the hilarious story of a folk duo that rose to fame with their signature song about staying together, only to break up constantly. “William Matthews: Decades”

The iconic image of the American cowboy continues to undergo numerous revisions, much like the Southwestern landscape. Over the last five decades, Colorado-based artist William Matthews has captured those transitions with his paintbrush and watercolors with a body of work that is stunning and, at times, witty. “Harry Fonseca: Transformations”

In the late 1970s, the late Nisenan Native American artist Harry Fonseca began his “Coyote” series. The main character in these works, seen as a “trickster” in Native American storytelling, is a metaphor for how one changes and defies society’s preconceived notions.
