Editor’s Letter—March 2019

Masterful.

Our staff would agree that one of the best parts of planning and assembling each monthly issue of Phoenix Home & Garden is our collaboration with some of the Southwest’s most respected architects, builders, interior designers, landscape professionals, artists and artisans, chefs and craftspeople. In addition to being awed by their skills and creativity, we are consistently charmed by their humility, candor and obvious enjoyment of how they spend their days. These individuals have risen to the top of their respective disciplines not only because of their undeniable—and uniquely individual—talents, but also for their professionalism and integrity.

The Phoenix Home & Garden Masters of the Southwest awards were conceived 29 years ago to honor these very qualities and to celebrate creative greatness in many forms. This year, we add five new names to our roster of more than 270 past honorees. While some knew at an early age what they were destined to become, others found their calling circuitously. One trait these successful men and women share is their passion to continually push themselves to go farther and reach higher. Never content to rest on their laurels, they strive to make each endeavor singularly spectacular.

It is with great pride that we introduce you to the 2019 Masters of the Southwest award winners on these pages. We hope that their work will inspire you as it has inspired us.
