We create architecture sensitive to people and place.
Each home is an expression of shared ideas between owner and architect, and each captures the unique character of its settings.
“Knoell & Quidort’s work embraces the landscape and region of the Sonoran Desert. It is what Arizona living should be about—the craft of building contemporary living spaces, sensitively sited, that are warm and inviting, with a connection to nature.”—Christy Ten Eyck, FASLA
Founded in 1978, our small studio of talented architects is process and detail oriented, with expertise in site design and analysis, conceptual design, schematic design, construction documents services and construction administration.
Broad roofs provide shade in summer and let winter sun in to warm the interior. Carefully positioned windows frame the best views and illuminate the interior with daylight. Natural ventilation takes advantage of the breezes produced by the topography and microclimate. Rooms merge with gardens, creating a variety of outdoor experiences. Building form and authentic materials blend with the landscape.
“Motivated by idealism and perceptive of the human impact of design decisions; not swayed by current fashions but concerned with functional and contextual appropriateness.”—Hideo Sasak.
