The desert landscape that surrounds this contemporary home is a source of pride for the homeowner, who did much of the design and planting himself. The recently completed “Flex Pavilion,” a multifunctional standalone structure that acts as an office, guest house, gym and entertainment area, blends into the site while framing the natural wash that traverses the property. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls invite the desert in, while a cantilevered open roof celebrates the Arizona sky and defines garden and relaxation spaces. A sunken outdoor entertainment area allows the homeowners and their guests to enjoy a fire on cool Arizona evenings while overlooking the adjacent mountains.
