This Tiny Home Comes With a Smeg Fridge, Bose Speakers—and a Big Purpose

This October, Phoenix-based builder myHAUSING will debut its flagship tiny home at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction (Oct. 15–18). The launch isn’t just about introducing luxury in small-scale living—it’s also about giving back. For every home sold during the event, myHAUSING will donate $2,500 to the Arizona Housing Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting affordable housing projects across the state. After the auction, the company has pledged $1,000 from every sale year-round.

Founder Erick Rene sat down with us to share how his design-driven homes merge luxury, attainability, and social impact.

Tiny Homes, Big Impact

The tiny house movement has been around for over a decade. What inspired you to launch myHAUSING?

I started myHAUSING out of a passion for rethinking housing affordability without compromising on design. The tiny house movement has proven that people can live well with less, but I saw an opportunity to take it further—by combining thoughtful architecture, premium finishes, and social impact.

My background in affordable housing finance gave me a front-row seat to the challenges people face in securing stable housing. That experience made it clear we need more creative, scalable solutions. myHAUSING is our way of addressing that gap—offering homes that are beautiful, attainable, and impactful.

Many tiny homes are rustic or pared-down in design. What aesthetic inspires myHAUSING?

Our design DNA is contemporary, clean, and detail-driven—closer to modern architecture than to rustic cabins. We collaborate with world-class architects like Tamen to create spaces that feel expansive, sophisticated, and timeless.

Natural light, smart layouts, and high-end finishes are central. When you’re living in a smaller footprint, every detail matters even more.

You offer both a mobile and a stationary model. What are their best uses?

The Vettel Haus is a 26-foot mobile home on wheels designed for flexibility—ideal for tiny home communities, vacation rentals, or anyone embracing a nomadic lifestyle.

The Le Mans Haus is a 10×16 stationary unit perfect for backyard offices, guest houses, or yoga studios. It’s a way to add space and value without the expense of major construction.

Your models feature premium touches rarely seen in tiny homes. Why was that important?

Small doesn’t mean sacrificing quality. We integrate brands like SMEG appliances, Blanco sinks and faucets, Bose speakers, quartz surfaces, Samsung TVs, Toto fixtures, and Waterworks accents. Showers feature Jolie Skin showerheads for a spa-like experience, and our Murphy beds use Create-A-Bed systems for ease and durability.

These choices reflect our design philosophy: every element should elevate daily living.

Can buyers customize their home?

Yes. Buyers can select finishes, materials, and certain configurations. While our core models provide a strong foundation, customization ensures each home feels personal to the owner’s lifestyle and taste.

How much do the homes cost, and where can they be shipped?

The Vettel Haus is $89,995, and the Le Mans Haus is $44,995. We ship nationwide and can deliver fully finished homes in under 90 days.

Why partner with the Arizona Housing Fund?

Housing is foundational to dignity and opportunity. The Arizona Housing Fund is dedicated to permanent, affordable housing solutions and reducing homelessness. Their mission aligns perfectly with ours. Partnering allows us to make an impact beyond the individual buyer, supporting those most at risk of being left behind.

How are you highlighting that partnership at Barrett-Jackson?

During the auction, we’ll donate $2,500 per Vettel Haus sold to the Arizona Housing Fund. Beyond financial support, we’re also using the event to spotlight their work—showing that design-led housing can also drive meaningful community change.

What’s next for myHAUSING?

We’re excited to debut the Vettel Haus at Barrett-Jackson. For us, it’s not just about launching a home—it’s about launching a movement that combines design, attainability, and philanthropy.
