: Ronna and Sheldon Nitzky
: 737 W. 2nd Ave., Mesa, Arizona

: The Nitzkys, who founded 2nd Ave. Lighting in 1979, are bringing their expertise in lighting and manufacturing to this new venture. Along with artist and designer Dina Petruzzi, the pair has created an upscale showroom in a factory environment that is open to the public and design professionals. The name Pentimento references the term used for the reappearance of an underlying image in a painting that has been painted over. The Nitzkys selected this name for their business to symbolize the bringing together of their collective areas of experience.
: The business strives to be a creative resource for residential and commercial projects. Pentimento supports area businesses by working with many local manufacturers.
What’s in store
: The company’s mainstays include art glass, vintage art, architectural stone, iron doors and gates, and more than 130 lighting collections featuring 2nd Ave. Lighting. It also is the national distributor for the local DODAZ line of modular outdoor furniture. Currently, the firm is creating room vignettes in its showroom to present a range of design possibilities.
: Check out the Plain Dome Chandel-Air fan pendant, original art created from vintage photos and memorabilia, and a Moroccan-style chandelier that looks like a work of art.
