History: In 1980, a young woman named Ann Sacks discovered a box of Mexican Talavera tiles being sold as trivets, and was inspired to start her own tile company. The Kohler Co. acquired her business in 1989, building the small enterprise into 20 showrooms throughout the U.S., with plans to open another in London this September.

Philosophy: ANN SACKS strives to be the resource of choice for design-driven projects by offering innovative and unique tile, stone and plumbing products via a focused and passionate organization.

What’s in store: You’ll find an extensive assortment of luxury tile, stone and plumbing products that include designs by Barbara Barry, Michael S Smith and Laura Kirar. The tiles are handmade from ceramic, glass, stone or concrete by skilled artisans and include myriad patterns and colors. Tiles also can be custom-ordered. On-staff design help and referrals are available.

Don’t miss: The Davlin tiles, featuring gold leaf fused between handcrafted glass, are stylishly sophisticated. Be sure to also check out the expanded “Good Price Point” line featuring tiles under $12 (per square foot), and the newly introduced bathroom accessories collections.
