History: In early 2009, Arizona native Lori Watts turned an eye for design into a retail business. For 15 years prior to that, she designed interiors for homes in the Southwest and in Mexico. Then, in January, when a space in Old Town Scottsdale became available, Watts decided to open a home-decor store.

Philosophy: While azaleas do not grow in Arizona, Watts feels their blossoms are emblematic of her showroom, which she says presents unusual and unique items that offer a range of design possibilities. “I love blending the super-Contemporary with older pieces,” she says. 

What’s in store: Room vignettes throughout the boutique showcase Watts’ eclectic flair. In a bedroom setting, for example, 3-D ceramic magnolias on the wall create an unexpected element, while a Contemporary living room setting features vintage wall-hung biscuit molds from India. A white suede chair with black leather trim, a one-of-a-kind glass table with a star-shaped base, and sculptural indoor/outdoor woven jute lounges from Mexico are a few of the items for sale. Home furnishings from GO Home, Oly, and Curran are available, along with tabletop pieces by Artel. In addition, the store carries works by local artists. Design consultation and decorative wall treatments also are offered.
