TAKING SHAPE

Colorful ceramics, paintings, glasswork and jewelry by local
and nationally acclaimed artists are in the spotlight as Mountain Artists Gallery in Prescott presents “Magical
Moments,” Sept. 17-Jan. 9.

Among featured works is “Sun Burst” by Deanne Brewster (pictured). The mid-fire stoneware piece measures 8" high x 6 1/4" wide x 3" deep.

Duley-Jones Gallery

Cody’s oil paintings capture a slice of Americana, highlighting buildings and signs that are part of the disappearing charm of small towns, while Cardinale re-creates churches and missions of the Southwest and around the world in three-dimensional mixed-media miniatures, focusing on details that make the structures unique and timeless.

Included are works by D.J. Hershman, Lynne Rae Lowe, Peter Myerson and Alan Powell. “The Dog and Pony Show,” Sept. 4-30, showcases artists who express the splendor and personalities of these beautiful and lovable animals. Jane Darrow, Karyl Bennett, Jan Van Ek, Star York and Liz Wolf are among the artists featured.


ART OF DESIGN

Etherton Gallery in Tucson presents “Art + Design: Etherton Invites,” Sept. 12-Nov. 28. The exhibition’s concept unites art and design in one space, highlighting the diversity and elegance of Contemporary desert design in Tucson. The exhibit is a collaborative effort with Tucson and Scottsdale designers and artists, including Stephen Paul of Arroyo Design, Scott Baker of Baker + Hesseldenz Design, Tom Philabaum of Philabaum Glass Studio & Gallery, and David Adler of David E. Adler Inc. Oriental Rugs.
