Eco-Conscious Linens

Author: Debra Kline
Issue: June, 2013, Page 40

LINEN FRESH

Designed to marry comfort, beauty and sustainability, SDH Fine European Linens recently introduced three eco-friendly linen collections. All manufacturing and finishing of the bedding lines are achieved without the use of chemical bleaches, finishes or formaldehyde.

The Purists’ Bergamo line (pictured here) is a pure linen and Egyptian cotton blend that features a detailed leaf jacquard as a subtle nod to nature. The Legna Classic line is available in eight color options and is woven of 100-percent Italian wood pulp. The material, lyocell, is easy to care for, harvested from managed forests and biodegradable.

The Purists’ Jasmine line, which is 45 percent linen and 55 percent Egyptian cotton, is made without dyes and is completely natural. View the entire SDH bedding collection at The Linen Tree, Scottsdale, (480) 483-2044, thelinentree.com.

BOOK REVIEW

“Retro is not a trend that can be summed up in a sentence or two, but an idiosyncratic style that’s all about having the confidence to live with the things we love, and to put them together in a way that suits our own particular circumstances.”
—Interior designer Andrew Weaving.

In recent years, Mid-20th-Century American decor, or “retro design,” has become hugely popular among those who appreciate the stylish contributions of this period.
