Steel Bench

Bench Press

With the holiday season in full swing, taking the time to sit down and unwind can alleviate seasonal stress.

This forged Vessel Bench by New Mexico iron artist Christopher Thomson, a Phoenix Home & Garden Master of the Southwest, is made of 97-percent recycled steel and topped with a leather cushion. The bench is finished with a blend of nontoxic ingredients, including orange peel oil.

Like the bench, the fireplace screen, also a Christopher Thomson design, is made of steel from a forge fueled by eco-friendly propane. Propane vapors do not cause air pollution and are not considered a greenhouse gas. Pieces intended for exterior use are coated with a powder finish that is free of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which may be  harmful to one’s health and affect air quality.
