Eco-Friendly Furnishings

Author: Roberta Landman
Issue: March, 2011, Page 44

WOOD WORKSThe Campos Bench from Environment is as multifunctional as it is eco-friendly. Crafted of reclaimed Brazilian Peroba Rosa wood and mahogany veneer, this versatile item is a striking choice for seating and also can be used as a coffee table or stand-alone piece.

Wood components are derived through sustainable forestry practices, and water-based finishes and stains are free of VOCs, the company reports.

Standing 17 3/4"H by 20"D, the bench is available in three lengths: extra small, 48"; medium, 59 3/8"; and large, 69 5/8".

Find it at Brix Home in Scottsdale, (480) 355-6050. For more information, check environmentfurniture.com.

A GROOVY SAVEScraps of teak from the lowlands of Southeast Asia that otherwise might have been burned are instead put to use in Groovystuff’s Honeycomb Side Table. Factory artisans in the indigenous locales hand-assemble teak remnants into the chunky and rustic-looking 18"-square piece.

The table is available through Valerie’s Furniture and Accents in Cave Creek, Ariz., (480) 483-3327. To learn of other retailers, visit groovystuff.com.
