ASID Arizona North Chapter President Janet Jackson tells us what’s new in lounge chairs

Designers are reinventing classic chairs by adding a contemporary twist. The wing chair, for instance, is made cleaner with sharper angled wings and arms; a higher, exaggerated back; or legs in metal or acrylic.

To accommodate the multiple body types that might be  in your household, incorporate two-piece lounge chairs in your seating area. Or, select upholstery with a deep seat cushion, which is more comfortable for a taller person, then add accent pillows to the chair’s back to shorten the seat when needed.

Today’s recliners allow you to relax with your head and feet fully supported. When in an upright seated position, you wouldn’t know that the chair is a recliner.
Heavy-duty residential fabrics attain a level of at least 15,000 “double rubs.” Cotton duck drawn back and forth across the surface is one double rub, replicating normal wear.
