This wonderful sculpture by the late Allan Houser—considered one of the most respected Modernist sculptors of his time and one of the premier Native American artists of the 20th century—brings to mind the importance of art in the home and the special sort of art that is found in the Southwest. Titled From the Land of Monuments and created in 1985, the bronze figure has a simplicity of form that I find mesmerizing. Measuring 12"H by 3.5"W by 2"D, it is offered by Figarelli Fine Art, (602) 670-8272.

LEG SHOWCharacterized by Spanish design influences and turned-wood legs, the Cortez Console from Casa Bonita is hand-carved, distressed and painted by master artisans. Made of hardwood and built with mortise and tenon joinery, it measures 44"H by 77"W by 23"D and is available through Ladlow’s, (480) 609-5000.
POT LUCKYear-round beauty is the reward that comes with this high-fired handmade clay planter. Filled with faux succulents artfully arranged by Eddie Smith Jr., it measures 10"W by 10"D and features a two-tone drip glaze. The pot and succulents are available at The Plant Stand of Arizona, (602) 304-0551.
WHAT A DOLLMade of wood, this lovely reproduction of a vintage santo cage doll boasts articulated arms and a base encircled with angel faces. She stands 36"H, and the top of her base offers a perfect place to display a favorite small collectible. Available at Arizona Interior Accents at Scottsdale Marketplace, (480) 368-5720.

FLOOR SHOWPart of the new Labyrinth Collection, this hand-knotted wool rug features a design inspired by the cultures of the Southwest, Africa and Latin America. Its earthy palette of color is enlivened with hues of turquoise, and it is available in various sizes exclusively through World of Rugs, (480) 419-6119.
Constructed of beech wood, Taylor King's William & Mary Dining Chair is distinguished with scrolled arms and legs adorned with carved detailing in a leaf motif. The seat is outlined with nailheads. Measuring 44"H by 25"W by 27"D, it is available in fabric or leather through DS the Studio, (480) 348-1776.
