The centerpiece of many bathrooms, free-standing tubs showcase stylish looks as well as niceties that help create spa-like experiences. Appealing designs offer such features as headrests, chromatherapy and hydro-massage. Pictured is Victoria + Albert’s Amalfi tub, which is cast in a single piece from finely ground volcanic limestone mixed with resin. The elongated back gives a modern-day twist to the timeless slipper tub design. Whether classic or Contemporary, free-standing options are numerous. So turn the page, and soak it all in.

This 16-gauge stainless steel tub appears to nestle in a footed frame. Manufactured by Diamond Spas, the Regal Bath is fabricated from recycled sheet metal and is corrosion-resistant. Its double-walled design helps maintain water temperature.

Hastings Tile & Bath’s Chelsea Silk tub is crafted from resin. The easy-to-mold material allows for the tub’s curvy shape. Measuring in at 58" long, it is ideal for small spaces.

Bring the outdoors in with WetStyle’s Image-In collection of bathtubs. Four tone-on-tone motifs, including Floral (pictured), are available in several models. Or, a custom motif can be designed. The pattern comes in either a matte or glossy finish.

Plywood clads Duravit’s Onto tub. The design comes in numerous styles, including a “compact” model (pictured in Dark Chestnut finish) that measures 55" long and 311/2" wide and is inspired by the look of Japanese soaking tubs.

Italian manufacturer Agape created its Novecento line of fixtures for an updated take on a classic style. The tub rests on two feet and has a sloping rectangular shape. Its rim can be fitted with a polished-stainless steel towel rail.

Quickly change the look of a bathtub with Bain-Ultra’s Tekura design. It is available with magnetic side panels in several colors and textures, including stainless steel (pictured). In addition, the tub features hydro-thermo massage, aromatherapy, a headrest, submerged armrests and more.

Bisazza Bagno helps customize the bathing experience with the Organico tub from its Hayon Collection. The design is shown here with a white-gloss exterior wood frame that has adjustable feet to ensure the tub is level. It also comes with three removable containers; the containers pictured have beech-wood lids.

Measuring 72" long and 341/2" wide, the roomy Askew tub from Kohler appears to be formed from a trio of slightly offset rectangles. It is designed for two bathers, with lumbar support at each end.
