| CAPE HONEYSUCKLE (Tecoma capensis) Best traits—A favorite of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees, this ornamental vine (or shrub) produces a flourish of orangish-red honeysuckle-like flowers from fall into spring. It can grow up to 25 feet high in one season and is heat-tolerant. Growing tips—Place in full sun to light shade; however, it will produce more flowers if grown in the sun. Water regularly until established, then keep moist as needed. To prevent this evergreen from getting leggy, cut it down to the ground every few years. |
