Tucson-area resident Ana Stilb and her family transformed an existing structure on their 100-year-old property into an outdoor sanctuary. The peaceful sitting area, which overlooks a creek and nearby waterfall, is ideal for watching the sunset, notes Stilb. Stone and rock columns provide support for the wooden trellis, which is adorned year-round with twinkling lights. Pots of climbing jasmine, selected for their sweet fragrance, are positioned next to the columns so the plants eventually will cover the trellis and create an arborlike effect.

The revamped vintage table and chairs belonged to Stilb’s mother-in-law, Elaine, who also lives on the property. The lightweight metal was painted a vibrant blue to echo a color incorporated throughout the home’s interior and exterior.
