I was raised in Wisconsin, where wintertime temperatures can be frigid. This hot drink never failed to warm us from head to toe.

-Executive Editor Nancy Erdmann

Yields: 12 servings

2 quarts apple cider
2 cups orange juice
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon cloves
14 cinnamon sticks

Place cider, orange juice and lemon juice in a large saucepan.

Add cloves and two cinnamon sticks.

Warm over medium heat for 20 minutes.

When ready to serve, remove cloves and cinnamon sticks and pour liquid into mugs. Place a new cinnamon stick in each mug and serve. Note: A teaspoon of honey may be substituted for the cloves.
