Chocolate Brownies

This dessert is a favorite go-to recipe in my house. It’s quick, easy and tastes good, too!

12/3 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Prepared icing
Peppermint candy (crushed and whole), for topping

 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir in all liquid ingredients. Pour batter into a greased 8"-square glass pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over batter.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Cool, and top with store-bought icing of your choice and crushed or whole peppermint candy.
