Violet Sage Cocktail

1 ounce premium vodka
1 ounce Parfait Amour liqueur or premium orange liqueur such as Cointreau
1 ounce fresh lime juice
½ ounce agave nectar or ¾ ounce simple syrup 4 fresh blackberries
3 sage leaves
½ ounce pasteurized egg whites, optional (egg whites add texture and a frothy top to cocktails)

In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients. Add enough cubed ice to chill drink and shake vigorously. If using egg whites, shake a little longer to combine. Double strain into a coupette or margarita glass to remove blackberry seeds. Garnish with fresh blackberries on a toothpick.
