Samplings of Various Foods Make the Perfect Party Fare for Easy Entertaining

Simple fancy-free food. Elegant decor. Everyday items used in unexpected ways. These are a few of the key ingredients for a successful party, according to Cheryl Najafi, author of the recently published You’re So Invited  book on party planning. “I’m a messenger of procurement and presentation,” the expert says. A large silver serving tray holds a variety of glassware filled with (from left) asparagus and zucchini sticks, Upside-Down Sweet Potatoes With Marshmallows, Rib Roast With Horseradish Sauce & Mashed Potatoes, and a Festive Salad.
Displayed in a clear glass urn, a simple arrangement of hydrangeas accented with red berries and magnolia leaves makes a striking centerpiece. Using her signature mix-and-match approach, and height variations to add interest, Cheryl Najafi incorporated glass votives in various sizes and shapes.
